Quick, easy, and simple toddler meals made with freezer food. A list of 12 freezer food toddler meal ideas for busy parents who need healthy meals on the table quickly.
Freezer food has come a long way since the early days of TV dinners. I’ve been finding fun, quick, and easy-to-make freezer food that can make a healthy meal for my toddler.
Veggies. One of my favorite things that freezer food sometimes has these days are hidden veggies. We introduced veggies to my toddler at a young age so he has no trouble eating them by themselves––you will see them as many of our side dishes––but I feel like its a secret bonus when food has added hidden veggies.
Location. I also want to point out that I am in the (western) United States. I’ve linked the website for the brands I like to buy so you can do a search on the website to see where the food can be purchased in your area. Some of the brands also offer shipping.
Below i’m sharing 12 ideas freezer food toddler meal ideas using food from the freezer.

Favorite Toddler Feeding Supplies
In the pictures below you will see some of our frequently used feeding supplies. Here are links to Amazon if you want to purchase them yourself. Having the right feeding supplies for toddlers can make a big difference in getting them to sit down and eat the delicious meal you just prepared for them (they don’t have to know how convenient it was from the freezer).
Sandwich & Veggie Cutters: these are a cute and easy way to make meal time more fun. I like this set because it comes with both small and large cutters so you can use them on anything from sandwiches to fruits, veggies, and cheese. I’ve used them on kiwi, cucumber, avocado, and cheese, just to name a few.
Pillowfort Plates: these are our go-to plates that we use just about every single meal. They have held up great in the dishwasher for more than a year and are also microwave-safe. They come in such cute colors and you can’t beat the price!
Dinneractive Utensil Set: a fork and spoon set that can make eating more fun. My toddler asks for these sometimes or I like to pull them out if he is having a hard time wanting to eat that day. They work like a charm!
Okay, now onto the fun part, the food!
Freezer Food Side Dishes
Freezer food is a great way for quick and easy hot lunches, but there are also some side dishes my toddler loves that come in the freezer as well; frozen fruits and veggies. Here are some ideas for freezer food side dishes:
- Veggies: peas, carrots, broccoli, green beans, corn, cauliflower rice
- Fruit (thawed or frozen for older toddlers): blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, mango
- Frozen Yogurt Tubes
To cook frozen veggies, I normally microwave them or steam them. To cook frozen fruit, I normally leave at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or defrost in the microwave for a few seconds.
Freezer Food Toddler Meal Ideas
- Veggie Corn Dog: these are our favorite MorningStar Farms Veggie Corn Dogs. They aren’t made with any soy and heat up in the microwave in just 1 minute. Sometimes I will cut them up or recently i’ve been leaving them on the stick for my 2-year-old. Side of grapes and whole milk string cheese.
- Veggie Chicken Nuggets: Perdue Chicken Plus with Veggies are chicken strips and nuggets that have cauliflower and chickpeas in the breading (extra veggies are always mom approved!) The bag has directions for cooking in the air fryer along with the oven and microwave, but we have been making them in the air fryer since they just take a few minutes. Side of carrots, peas, kiwi, and pineapple.
We have an air fryer like this – See Air Fryer on Amazon – and I would highly recommend for making chicken strips, sweet potato fries, and crispy veggies!
- Rotini Pasta made with Veggies: we have been loving Birdseye SteamFresh Veggie Rotini Marinara made with veggie pasta! This is rotini pasta made with zucchini and lentils and red sauce; you really can’t tell the difference. Ready in the microwave in just a few minutes. Side of cucumbers and pineapple.
- Chicken Veggie Meatballs: veggies hidden in meatballs are always a win! We love these KidFresh Foods Chicken Veggie Meatballs. They are warmed in the microwave in just 60-90 seconds. I like to cut them in half or quarters for my 2-year old. Side of grapes and whole milk string cheese.
- Sweet Potato Tots: we have been loving Green Giant Sweet Potato Cauliflower Tots. Its reccomened to warm in the oven for about 15 minutes, but they come out slightly crispy and perfect for toddlers (and my 9 month old eats them too!). Side of sliced oranges and grapes.
- Whole Gran Waffle: my toddler’s favorite frozen waffles are Nutri-Grain Whole Grain Waffles. I topped with jelly and served with a side of sliced apples and peanut butter. Other good toppings for waffles could be nut butter, fruit, honey, or coconut cream. I share some more of our fun breakfast ideas in this post: 32 Fun Toddler Breakfast Ideas
- Spinach Littles Potato Cakes: one of my favorite brands for frozen foods is Dr. Praeger’s. We love Dr. Praeger’s Spinach Littles because they are made with just a handful of clean ingredients and warm up in the microwave in just 60-90 seconds. Side of avocado, strawberries, and grapes.
- Super Greens Veggie Nuggets: another favorite from Dr. Praeger’s. They are a little more crispy and more like nuggets than the Spinach Littles, but they are still made with veggies. Dr. Praeger’s Super Greens Veggie Nuggets cook up in a frying pan in just a few minutes and are great with all your toddler’s favorite dipping sauces. Side of blueberries, grapes, and cheese.
- Chicken Broccoli Alfredo: I picked this up for myself at the grocery store one day and its been a hit for my toddler ever since. Healthy Choice Chicken Broccoli Alfredo heats up in the microwave in just a few minutes and is a good source of veggies and protein. Side of air fryer sweet potato fries and grapes.
- Fish Sticks: we love KidFresh Fish Sticks made with chickpeas in the breading. They heat up in the microwave in just a few minutes and can be a good way to expose your toddler to fish and an alternative to chicken nuggets. Side of avocado and mixed veggies.
- Broccoli Little Potato Cakes: another lunch idea from Dr. Praeger’s brand. My toddler actually prefers the Dr. Praeger’s Broccoli Littles over the spinach littles I shared above, but both are pretty tasty and full of veggies. Side of carrots with ranch and mixed veggies.
- Alfredo with Veggie Noodles: a fun alternative to mac ‘n cheese is Birds Eye SteamFresh Veggie Pasta Alfredo . The noodles are made with zucchini and lentils, which is always a plus for me when feeding my toddler. Side of grapes and peas and carrots.
